This is demanding. You’re engaging emotional risk - over an unknown period of time.
The thing is, you got primed in school to effort for the gold star, the medal, the reward at the end, and this can connect into a sense of safety and the idea that there’s authority you can appeal to. It’s programming that runs deep and can be hard to ignore.
But in truth, with creative work, there is no gold star, not really. Because if you make something that comes with a guarantee you’re making safe work and where’s the fun in that?
A creative process, engaged with sincerely, will kick stuff up.
This feels like you’re being tested.
Actually, you’re being developed.
If it feels emotional, it’s because it is.
But when creative work is positioned as a kind of luxury,
we’re often unlikely to seek support.

As a person who juggles creative freelance work with a full time job, I had struggled to tap into the parts of myself needed to produce good work from a real place because it so often felt like switching lanes. I’ve worked in Film across multiple departments for 15 years. I’ve made my own work on micro budgets and crewed on a £200mill feature. I’ve produced Visual Art, taught various aspects of filmmaking at university level and worked extensively in commercial casting.
I’ve been writing for two decades. Some of those years were not fruitful. Things are very different now.

Yes! The fee is slightly higher for international clients to accommodate for postage costs. (Brexit did us no favours)

No. In my experience it is more potent to remove the screen and focus on the voice. It facilitates a different kind of listening.

Also, no. This focuses the call and encourages both of us to show up in full presence. Some clients like to be prepared with a notepad.

Absolutely. Some of our clients like to work with their blend for an extended period of time. A bottle of a repeat blend costs £22 plus postage

Yes. Even though the specifics may vary according to the industry, the human experience of being under pressure and still wanting to deliver their best is often similar and the session can be adjusted to you.
